NFL Week 14 Look-Ahead Lines: Texans are 5-point dogs at Patriots in MNF showdown

Every week, the LVH SuperBook (@LVSuperBook) in Las Vegas releases ?look-ahead? point spreads before the current week?s games have been played.

Some notable Week 14 nuggets:

  • In our weekly Public Perception Rankings, the Texans and Patriots have occupied the No. 1 and No. 2 spots in some fashion since Week 4. Those teams, which haven?t met since 2009, will square off on Monday Night Football with New England installed as an early 5-point favorite.
  • The Browns (-4 against the Chiefs) will be favorites for the first time since Week 11 of last season. (That is, of course, assuming that they aren?t favored at Oakland this weekend in a game that doesn?t yet have a point spread.)
  • Road teams are favored in four of 14 lined games. The one we disagree with? Jets -2.5 at Jaguars. Ride that Chad Henne bandwagon!
  • Will the Buccaneers be a trendy Survivor Pool pick as 8-point home favorites over the Eagles? Chances are that everyone has them left, and Cantor Gaming set that at Philadelphia -5.5 in lines released before the season. A nice little unexpected gift for the 1 percent of people who are still alive in survivor pools.
  • The Giants are historically not good at home and not good as a favorite, but they?re laying 5 points against the explosive Saints.
