The Global Entrepreneurship Monitor released a report that found that the number of entrepreneurs worldwide has increased to about 400 million throughout 54 countries. Startups are becoming a stronger engine in emerging economies, not just in their ability to advance technologies but in providing many with job opportunities.? However, more than fifty percent of startups in their emergent states shut down due to customer disinterest and lack of funding among other issues. As a consequence, Google launched Google for Entrepreneurs, a bundle of programs and resources designed to assist growing businesses.
The project concentrates on three parts. The first is to establish partnerships with organizations with the power to help entrepreneurs at local levels. Next, Google teams will work with the entrepreneurs via events like Startup Weekend, where entrepreneurs share ideas and launch startups.? Finally, Google tools that are appropriate to the needs of startups are given as the businesses are launched.
Google is currently running projects around the globe that are as varied as a train ride through India to one concentrating on female entrepreneurs ? which make up for 163 million of the previously mentioned 400 million. The first annual Google for Entrepreneurs Week will bring together 3,000 Google workers and entrepreneurs. The two will also get assistance from organizations such as Communitech that help foster the entrepreneurial spirit.
Google has good reason to see businesses grow. The company is very keen on acquiring business, such as the bestselling travel guide series Frommer?s in August of 2012 to its recent buy of facial recognition company Viewdle In October. By helping new startups develop the ideas and products that will be of great use to the search-engine company, both sides come out significantly better than if they had worked on their own.
