Keri Wyatt Kent | Diane Markins

R & R used to mean Rest and Relaxation and was a key part of the American way of life. The new R & R seems to be taking over?Rush and Rapid. Author Keri Wyatt Kent believes this can and should change. In this guest post you?ll get a taste of how and why. In my interview with her we?ll go deeper, inspiring even the busiest person to take a breath and a break.

We live hurried, frantic lives. In our culture, this anxious hurried state has become normal. But do we want to be ?normal??that is, conformed to this world? If we do, we miss out on one of the sweetest gifts God gives: the ability to hear his whispers in our ear.

Some of us stay busy, and live with the hurried heart that comes with that, because we secretly do not want to hear God. We?re afraid he will give us marching orders, send us to Africa, tell us to do something we feel incapable of doing, make us stop having fun.

The calling of God is less often about doing, and more often about knowing. What he longs to whisper in our ear, if we would stop long enough to be still and listen, is that he loves us. He calls us to be transformed by that love. Can you slow down enough to hear the voice that calls you beloved?
