Android Game Review ? Neverball

Another retro game waits in line: ?Neverball? from the indie developers of 10range imitates the gameplay of the classic wood labyrinth game. Just like in this reference game, your task is to guide a ball by tilting your device, except that you don?t have to place it in a hole, but you have to collect coins which will unlock the gate to the next level. Talking about levels, the scope of ?Neverball? is very large for a game that is absolutely free-to-play! In the normal version you get to chose between two difficulty modes of which each has 20 different levels. Furthermore, you can download an extra package with additional levels. The sounds are also quite nice, especially the background sound in the menue is very catchy.

There are grave deficiencies concerning the controls, the graphics and the atmosphere. Due to the bad calibration, most notably for tablets, and the additional buttons to turn the camera, the controls are not really intuitive. Admittedly, ?Neverball? is an indie game, but the graphics are too simple in order to create a cohesive atmosphere or any kind of atmosphere at all.

Consequently, the conclusion can?t turn out that positive. The scope and the sounds are praiseworthy, but there is still potential in terms of controls and graphics.
